A FHM Family Finds a Meal
Food for Hungry Minds parents look hard to find ways to feed their children. A mother has her hair “test-shampooed” — one section with the company’s shampoo, another, with a competitor’s product. She fills out a questionnaire and is paid P20 (50 cents). Now she can go to the market, cook, walk to the nearby public school, and give her children their first meal of the day.

Global Relationships

  • Relocated from Singapore to Paris, HR Director Elisa is still committed to helping kids in Manila.
  • This March, the class sponsored by an American couple graduates. Grudnowski’s have signed on with friends to help another class!
  • Encouragement in a thank you note from FHM student, Ricca, “Don’t give up. Just walk on the faith in your heart.”
  • Why does Chuck always bring extra luggage? He is the #1 source of high quality vitamins!
  • Friends of US board member, Gael, are buying bags crafted by FHM parents.
  

 

Creative Software Developers Mobilize International Giving
Can you top this? Developers in Accenture-owned Navitaire gathered to create six bands. Hungry Bands for Hungry Minds battled for top billing in 3 lunch-hour events. Manila employees voted with Pesos. Meanwhile, YouTube video clips (plus some email encouragement from global team members!) let colleagues around the world vote in Australian or American dollars. The total funds raised? Nearly USD 15,000! Navitaire’s winning band, Pablo Wablo — along with FHM friends — entertained at Accenture’s local Christmas party.

   
 

GE Money in the Philippines Coordinates and Fund Hepatitis B Vaccinations for All
Employees with GE Money in the Philippines have taken the FHM kids to heart. Thanks to GE’s effort and financial contribution, more than 100 children and staff were screened and then vaccinated against Hepatitis B. Asking FHM kids to sing at GE’s Valentine’s lunch for seniors was an added bonus, letting the kids give something back. Thank you for a gift that will last a lifetime!

FHM fifth graders were invited to share in a recent General Mills family day. Now the company’s international foundation has indicated its intention to help fund student costs for the coming year.
 

Children in the Cargill and Ronald McDonald House classes will soon move to a school setting large enough to accommodate 90 children.
